Sammy Blue

Everythang & Mo Liner Notes

Sammy Blue Sammy Blue hails from South, the birthplace of the Blues. When Sammy was young, he had the good fortune to be taught both modern and traditional blues by several of the great bluesmen of yesteryear. With his band backing him up, he can easily blister a contemporary blues song. Playing solo with either a Dobro or an acoustic guitar, he can transport you back in time to the traditional sounds of a rural America. On his premier CD, Sammy Blue gives you a link to both the past and the present. In his own words he gives you Everythang & Mo'.
I dedicate this music to the artists who taught me the true meaning of being a bluesman, as well as the craft. In life and in vivid memory, these men helped to define my artistic goals, cultural perspective and thus my own identity and purpose. Thank God for: Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Taj Mahal, Albert Collins, Freddie King, Lightning Hopkins, Brownie McGee, Buddy Moss, Hubert Sumlin, Jimi Hendrix, Howlin' Wolf, James Cotton, Mighty Joe Young, Big Joe Williams, Homesick James, Sammy Longhorn, Hoshel Wright and George Benson.
